    Modern clutches are designed to last for up to 100,000 miles depending on the make and model but for older cars this can be less. Equally, rough driving conditions can quicken the rate of deterioration. You can help to look after your clutch by: checking the brake fluid regularly; avoiding pressing the clutch pedal too quickly; not using the clutch to brake and not towing heavy items. If your clutch goes go, it will leave you stranded at the side of the road.
